A Pirate's Life Is NOT For Me!!
It was Pirate Day at the county library this past Saturday. There were pirate hats, pirate swords, and even pirate parrots. We went to the library to celebrate Pirate Day and Walker decided "a pirate's life is Not for me." All Walker wanted to do is read books and play with the toys at the library. So instead of showing you cute pirate pictures with Kate!!, Gabe and Daydee Madeline, below you will find pictures of Walker enjoying the librarie's "Pirate-less" Day.

This is just a goofy picture of Walker with his new Oscar the Grouch hat. It is so cute. It has pom-poms on top. Of course the psycho smile is still a Walker favorite.

Happy Birthday Big Boy, Gabe!
This weekend we celebrated Baby Gabe's 1st Birthday! Now we have to call him Big Boy Gabe. It has been such an honor to watch him grow over the past year and we hope to celebrate many more birthdays with him. I have a feeling that it won't be too much longer before Walker and Gabe are good car buddies as I think they are both budding engineers.
We had a wonderful weekend but sadly, I left my camera at home charging and missed the photos but enjoyed all of the festivities. Deanna, Jon, Kate and Gabe, thanks for including us in your celebrations.
As I don't have any great photos from the weekend, I wanted to include a few photos of Gabe from this year... My, how he's grown.
Baby Gabe at Walker's 2nd birthday. (What a little fellow).

Look at how tall he' s gotten!

What a sweetie face.

Like Brain Surgery... Kind of
This weekend Nathan began the restoration project on his Mustang. As you probably already know, the roof of Nathan's car was crushed a few weeks ago by a falling limb. This weekend Nathan and his friend, Thomas, took the top off of a junk-yard Mustang and fused it onto the top of his old Mustang. I guess it was kind of like brain surgery, if you are using a welding torch to conduct the surgery. There is still a long rode ahead for Nathan and his car but it was exciting to see the first steps.

Belated Labor Day Doings
We had a wonderful Labor Day weekend! First came a visit from Meemaw and Pop Pop. They drove all the way from Alabama to spend a little time with their favorite person on earth... Little Dude-o.
Friday night, when they arrived, Walker was so excited to show Meemaw and Pop Pop his ducks and his playground. Saturday we took a leisurely trip to Fernandina Beach and ended our night at the waterfront park where Walker and Meemaw danced the evening away on the pier.
Sadly, Meemaw and Pop Pop had to cut their trip short as Hurricane Fay raced towards the Alabama coast but we know that we will see them again soon.
Monday we enjoyed the Catfish Festival with Kate!!, Griffin, Grayson and Daydee Madeline. We had a great time representing Classic Cleaners, Camden's Best Cleaners on the CC float. I love to watch Walker interact with his beloved Kate!!. When they first got onto the float together, I heard him say "Kate, want juice?" I realized that he was offering his little date a refreshment... how darling!!
Meemaw and Pop Pop feed the ducks.

Little-dude-o teaches Meemaw how to hurl bread.

Walker loves to ting on the tings.

Daddy and Dude-o take and evening stroll.

Walker checks out the boats.

Walker and Meemaw enjoy the sea breeze.

and do a little dancing.

Catfish Photos
It was so muggy my camera fogged up but I thought this was a cute picture anyway.

The Three Amigos (I promise the boys are not crying out because of Kate's vulcan death grip.. they were just excited to hit the parade route.)

Daydee Madeline was born to ride on a float! She waved to her adoring fans through the whole parade route.

We had a fabulous Labor Day and can't wait to see Meemaw and Pop Pop again soon!

Goin' Down to the Fishing Hole
Today was a 5 Star Day for Walker. First he went to preschool where he "put dirt on Walker's head" and then he had lunch with the beautiful Kate!! who is recently back in town. Walker is so madly in love with the lovely Kate!! and he hadn't seen her in almost two weeks. When she pulled up in the driveway, Walker jumped up and down screaming "KATE!! KATE!!" So cute.
After a delcious turkey dog lunch, Kate!! wanted to see our goldfish Kah. I brought Kah out to the dining room table and Walker said "I get my pole." So Walker and Kate!! spent the afternoon trying to fish the defenseless Kah out of his bowl.
After their fishing expedition, Kate!! helped Walker take off his shoes (perhaps a funny twist on the Cinderella story) and Daydee Babe played cars. I don't think that it will be too much longer before Walker and Daydee Babe will be car buddies.
Here are some pictures from our fun afternoon:
Kah moments before her brush with death.

Walker does a little fishing.

Kate!! shows him how a real angler catches a fish (and pins Kah against the walls of his tank).

Kate!! helps Walker take off his shoes.

Daydee Babe gets in on the car action. What a boy!!

Kate!!, Daydee Babe, Deanna and Jon... we are soooo happy you are back!

Eedin' de Ucks (Translation "Feeding the Ducks")
One of Walker and Daddy's favorite evening activities is going to feed the ducks in the pond in our neighborhood. As soon as we finish dinner, Walker will say "eed de ucks, Daddy?" If the weather is good, they hop in Walker's cool ride and pedal over to the duck pond. Tonight was one of those nights and Daddy was kind enough to document it on film for us.
First step, getting ready to cruise.
Much to my chagrin, Walker's "psycho smile" is back.
He wants all of our readers to know that 'eedin ucks' makes him happy.
I think he looks a little like he is going to eat a duck with his bare hands, but I digress.

We keep our duck food in the little compartment of Walker's car.

Gotta get a big handful of bread for the hungry ducks.

Walker pelts the ducks with bread. Feeding ducks = Target practice

After they feed the ducks, Walker and Daddy like to finish their evening at the playground. Walker loves to climb on the jungle gym.

He also loves to swing on the big boy swing. Good thing he has good balance because that big puddle looks a little ominous. He came home a little stinky but without a drop of puddle water on him. Good job, Walker and Daddy!

Note: No ducks were harmed in the making of this blog entry.
